Sorry, I'd call you difficult. But I respect your forethought and the obvious way this experience and your baby will mean a great deal to you. I urge you to rethink a few of the issues as pointed out by nicu nurse. Good luck.

thanks for your input..he doesnt want to use mag or brethine. but brethine is his big kick. takes everyone off it that his partners puts on it prenatally. wish you knew the source of that article. would enjoy reading about it.
ICURNBSN2000-definately declare kansas. however there is some fine print on the declarations usually about how long you have been away from home and working in the same general area. Read the declaration carefully and ask your recruiter and/or co.'...
Gotta que. We have a doc that swears the adverse effects on the fetus/neonate are far worse than the benefits of giving it for PTL. Says it causes brain hemorrhage and seizures. Been giving brethine all my yrs of OB..never had a fetus to seize aft...

also you have to think..is it the wisest thing to give someone something orally when they are hemorrhaging to death? we only have 100mcg pills so that would be anywhere from 2-10 pills po to someone who may have to go to the OR and possibly be intub...
Dont even think about it. Talk about a problem when your cord prolapses. Dont let them do this to you. I worked in the same kind of hosp. 500 or so births a yr. and this was done to me frequently. I left 5 yrs ago and I work in the next town over...

yep. They always said they were trying to get us help from agencies and travel co.s but nobody ever came. I stayed there 9 months doing l&d and postpartum not to be a glutton for punishment but more as a mission. Maybe one of my pts would spea...
