  1. Nevada State College

gtterbug; sounds reasonable enough. do you know if unlv has it the same way? maybe you know someone who has an idea. i hear they're stricter.
  2. UNLV, budget issues, nursing schools

People from out of state just come here to go to school then, they usually go back to their states. But it is a bad deal for locals who want to stay. Even before the crisis, most of nv graduates leave. It just got worse that's all. It will be a lon...
  3. UNLV, budget issues, nursing schools

UNLV gets most of the money anyway, maybe it's time they gave back to the state. The nursing program is not immune, no one is. I hope things get better, even if people get their RN degree here, theyd still have to move. NO JOBS. (sigh)
  4. Nevada State College

This area of Nevada is odd, theres only a few choices of nursing schools and less applicants are applying now. But, these schools are continually acting like theyre doing us a favor. In reality, they need their students to stay in business! It doesn...
  5. Which school is better for nursing???

I wish I applied for UNLV instead. CSN is great, but with the work that the nursing program demands, I would've been better off with UNLV! It's true, you work just as hard or in some cases, even harder!
  6. So excited to begin program! (CSN Spring '10)

I remember the first time I saw the CSN syllabus last year, I suddenly got a headache from it! It's overwhelming! It doesn't matter what school you go to. It's just a question on how much money you're willing to pay! You'll just pay MORE for priva...
  7. My personal ADN vs BSN debate in Las Vegas

I agree CSN and UNLV are good schools. They SHOULD be, both their nursing programs have been around for more or less 30 years! They should've perfected their systems and they have. NSC's nursing program was just started in 2004ish, earlier this year...

  10. this article was written on jan 2008. it's more of a bush administration problem, but i think it was also a clinton administration problem. in any case, it is a major problem now, with the economy and all. why is the us federal government lax with i...
  11. So Many Students! Will Shortage Now End?

as a nursing student myself, everyone who has posted on this thread should read the threads on nursing news from actual practicing, experienced, laid-off and recent rn graduates for months/year and read the real 411! hate to burst your bubble folks, ...
  12. RN Aesthetician - Anyone have any input?

i've heard of a few nurses in the past who do this kind of work part-time but they all have been nurses for a while though. i didn't know you can do it as a new grad. hope all goes well for you with the board of nursing and all. say, is this the one ...

  14. TMCC Nursing - Crying and frustrated

I think everyone who goes to nursing state schools feels like you do. State schools have been around much longer, they have at least 20-25+ years headstart compared to these "new" schools (except for NSC, but they're getting tougher too). State schoo...
  15. RN Aesthetician - Anyone have any input?

I'd take it, sounds like a good deal. Besides, I hear it's not that easy anymore to get hired in our area as a new grad nowadays, take a chance!
