Many orthodox religions believe that the body must be complete for the resurrection. This is why you see orthodox jews mopping up blood at scenes where they have been attacked in Israel. Those blood soaked handkerchiefs will be buried with the dead. So in that case, all body parts must be returned with the body after the autopsy is done, so it can be buried all together. (and not retained in the pathology office, then burned with medical waste.)

I love clinic nursing. The patients walk in and they walk out. The only part of my job which is tense is phone triage, but that should be a piece of cake for an experienced RN. Patient education is a huge part of the job, also knowing what the doctor or provider would want on a patient before they go in the room is big. I work with a very happy, kind and compassionate bunch, it's a super great office and I love it. Eves and weekends, and holidays off, you get to know your patients, so that when they walk in from reception, you can assess so much. I don't think I can imagine being this happy anywhere else....really, and I never, ever expected this from this job. What a great bunch of people!

I know "someone" who, needing to apply two creams to a patient, went into the room, carrying little medicine cups with the two creams. One went onto the shoulders (capsaicin pain relief cream) and the other one (miconozole, for a yeast infection in the groin area). She got the two mixed up and the capsaicin cream went onto the irritated skin in the groin. Amazingly, she figured out that she did this and immediately washed off the wrong cream in the groin area before the burning sensation started! Ahhh new nurses!

    Sufferkate,
You are a natural writer. Your story was riveting. It must have been insanely scary to go through that.
