Hey apaisRN, where are you going in Me.? I lived there for years and worked at a few hosp. there, my husband is from there too, we love it but it is too cold in winter for us . I'd be interested in doing camp nursing but don't know anything about i...

  3. Nursing School Age 49?

I had many people in my class (1990 grad), that were fiftyish. I was in my thirtys and did fine. Personally I think it's an advantage in some ways because you are certain of your career choice. All the best and go for it!
  4. Do people really pass after 265 Questions-NCLEX

Yeah, when I wrote I was the same way, the questions just kept coming and I was in there for over 3 hours and passed so hang in. I don't do tests well either. I forgot how many questions I had but it was as least that many 265.
  5. "The View" insults nursing

    Not me.
  6. Qualifications for UK nursing

Thanks for the info. Yeah I worked over there years ago and loved it. (as a barmaid) oh, how times have changed for me.. ha Oh, I just read in the NMC that I need a 3 yr. RN education, that's depressing as I really wanted to go. I'm ANCC psych RN...

  9. Starting Psych Residency as GN

I would suggest working 3-11 at first as it is sometimes alittle quieter, less meetings and Dr's, SW's etc. but on the other hand days are good if you want to get some experience participating in groups, intervention meetings etc. they're usually he...
  10. "The View" insults nursing

I wrote the View and hope they do what I suggest.. We have to prove everyday that we're worthy of our titles. I get tired of being asked are you a tech? or what are you? I can't tell until I see your nametag, come closer so I can see who you are,...
  11. Scared or just Chicken

Thanks for the advise. I got the state regulations and they were extremely vague about a nurses role in assisted living. I think I'll go back to psych travel instead of ALF. This type of work is too ambiguous for me.
  12. Thanks everyone for the insight into Corrections nursing, now I only have to decide what company to go with and where, any suggestions would be very appreciated. Is the pay good?
  13. Canadian Nursing Strike

Hi, Canadian R.N.s, I'm one too ( N.S.). It hurts to see that the nursing situation hasn't really improved all that much since I left in 1991. It's a nice place to visit but I WOULDN'T WANT TO WORK THERE. I'm going "home" this summer to visit only...
  14. Scared or just Chicken

Yeah, I have but got no real answer, just "If you can think of something you want to know, ask me." I'm putting in my notice. Thanks for answering.
  15. Not sure what to do

I have done forensic nursing for a number of years and I can tell you it isn't about rape cases, anywhere I've worked. Usually it's murderers, rapists, the criminally insane. It is very dangerous tough work and you need to be on your toes every sec...
