lol Thanks guys. A used needle in a Hep C, HIV positive patient dropped near my feet last weekend. Scared the living cr*p out of me!
  3. Preventing Needle sticks

Preventing needlesticks in your feet: What shoes do you wear to prevent this? I was thinking of wearing the Sika Footwear shoes because they look tough and a lot of nurses wear them. http://sikafootwear.ca/ What shoes do you wear to prevent needl...

When people ask "what should I do to stay regular?" I say "eat more fiber! A couple bowls of All bran will have you going pretty regular!" I hope I don't get sued or something.

  10. When to wear gloves!?

A nurse that specializes in infection control in my hospital says that we don't have to wear gloves when we have no chance coming in contact with bodily fluids. She said this includes from changing linen to doing vital signs to bed baths (that doesn...
  11. Me (student) + ER

Anyone ever work as a student in the ER and feel absolutely inept, stupid, and incompetent? I sure do! To all you nurses out there, what do I, as a student, need to do to become successful? I can only review the common diseases so much but there's ...
  12. living in the US compared to Canada..(long)

I jsut think how funny it is that the 2nd poster wrote that gas prices were 90.4 c/L in 2004. Albeit it has dropped dramatically (today 89.9) from earlier in the year when it was 155.9. Things sure change quickly when you travel.

Let the manager or supervisor know. You need to be protected!
  14. Nursing caps required at your job?

In Thailand nurses still wear the nursing caps. I think it's quite attractive
