Thank you for your input, I appreciate it very much . How is the clinical portion of the program? My fear is if I am unable to find a clinical placement on my own, will the school provide me with one? Or will I be out of thousands of $$ in tuition?

    Hi all!

I am a current ADN student (graduating soon) who would like any information possible regarding SUNY Plattsburgh's online rn-bsn program. If anyone has any information or if anyone currently attends, your advice and words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

Can anyone tell me what I should be memorizing for the drugs in Pharmacology ... it's alot of drugs, and I'm not sure what information I need to know for the test.. Professor won't say much .. I know I need to know the generic and trade names, routes, dosages, therapeutic effect and classification .. mostly querying if there's anything additional...

Best Advice I can give is to KNOW THOSE CATEGORIES and the Major side effects about the major drugs the teacher stresses! Trust, I did it without the help of any books or study aids. Once you know those categories then you can just simply memorize that Trade-generic list. Make yourself tricks to remember wat name goes with wat. You'll do fine. Good luck!

    greetings my fellow v.e.e.b-sters!

i decided to start this thread to follow up with those who have attended v.e.e.b's program and graduated, to see where their path to nursing has taken them.

just to clarify, v.e.e.b is a practical nursing program located in long island, ny.

since veeb is such a wonderful program; graduating approximately 150 trained practical nurses every year, i figured it would be nice to see where those wonderful graduates are currently in their careers and education.

this thread can be used as a mini "reunion" tool (lol), as well as one of encouragement for future or current students.

    veeb alumni please list:
    1) year you graduated
    2) # of years experience working in the field
    3) area of specialty
    4) any additional education you have attained
    5) future aspirations...

Hi im starting sept 1 2011. Does anyone know if we will have tests on the first day of school. And if so how many.
    Thanx
From what I recall there were no test the first day. You guys start on a Thursday if I'm not mistaken, so you'll probably have ur first test the following Monday or so (which is the safety quiz).
The first day u are introduced to all the teachers and are given the modules. No real work the first day.

I started posting on this thread to keep tract of the progress I made over this past year. Never imagined how quickly time would past. I can't believe that I not only graduated but also graduated as Valedictorian! This whole journey has been a true blessing, one I will never forget.

Congrats class of 2011, we did it! Yeaaa boy lol. Now on to bigger and better things...

To the class of 2012: stay focus, humble and dedicated and you will be successful. If I can do it....ANYONE can!! Good luck

One of the worst financial decisions you can make is buying all those books brand new right away. The school isn't strict to the point that they'll make sure you have a specific book. Only books you'll need to bring in are clinical calculations and the A&P review book. Trust me when I say you don't need the latest editions. It's all the same material, only difference would be page numbers. Shop around eBay, Half, Amazon.

Honestly most of my books sat around and collected dust. PM me if you need a specific book and maybe I can help you out.

The Quiz's are strictly off verbatim, a better investment would be a lightscribe pen.

Seriously don't be intimidated by the material, the school does everything in it's power to help students succeed. The pace may even seem slow at times.
    CLASS OF 2012,

Please listen to grindin. I currently own NO TEXTBOOKS OR WORKBOOKS and if not Valedictorian, I will @ least be graduating with honors!

The only book that is a MUST HAVE is the drug handbook for clinicals and even that you can barrow from your local library. Other than that, buy books as needed n USED or Older editions are a great option. Everyone learns differently because there were those who absoultely needed the books. See what works for you n don't be intimidated by those who carry around ALL their textbooks. Doesn't mean they have any lead over you lol

To grindin- thanks for the word of advice. Saved me a lot of headaches n financial trouble since I really didn't have $600 to begin with. Thanks a ton
