i am trying to but im struggling. (sadly, considering its not rocket science) i understand that if the tube is too high fluid can enter the lungs but would that lead to impaired spontaneous ventilation?
i cant find an applicable nursing diagnoses in my text for fluid in the lungs. would 'risk of fluid entering lungs related to incorrect NGT positioning'
i need help with nursing diagnoses regarding correct management of NG tube. im thinking 1. risk of infection related to NG tube placement 2. risk of inadequate nutrition via NG tube due to its incorrect positioning. 3. risk of trauma to nasal passage...
just wondering if anyone can tell me if you check for correct NG placement prior to every feeding. and would it be ridiculous for me to suggest radiography to do so on a regular basis.
