ImmerKlein replied to treeguy's topic in Pre-Nursing
I honestly, desperately want to be in this field. I have just graduated, but during high school I took an EMT certification class to see if I had what it took to really be a good nurse. After that, I think that I might go home crying once a week or s...

I meant University of Louisiana-Lafayette. Sorry. I know there's no such school. And the program is a four-year RN program where you start your classes in your freshman year. http://www.nursing.louisiana.edu/baccalaureate/Bachelor%20of%20Science%20in...
This is what really makes me mad. A lot of nurses are really very intelligent, and everyone acts like nursing school is no big deal-even those of my senior class who are going into the medical field. When I tell my classmates, they act like I've just...

Depends on where you are, of course. If you're willing to go out of state, I know that University of Louisiana lets you start nursing classes in your first semester (also happens to be cheap no matter who you are) and is a very good school.
I have heard a lot about the insane amount of stress and work that the ER nurses have to cope with, but they are such amazing role models to me! I want so much to be one (though I am not sure I have that much patience...)
In all of this, I find much that is very helpful, very entertaining, and a few conversations that have been outright inspiring. I start nursing school this fall: I am taking some of your advice to heart! Be warned!
