I have a Littmann Classic but sometimes find it difficult to hear with it. Any suggestions on a better Stethoscope? Anyone have the same problem as me? Thanks in advance!

I have my first clinical next week and I'm on the ICU stepdown floor. I do not feel like I'm ready for this yet! Is this normal?? I passed all my checkoffs fine and have good grades in class but I don't feel ready to start on real patients...any tips or suggestions??

Blackboard was down yesterday and today. Hope they fix it soon!
Have you looked at the medical terminology for quiz 1? How are you studying for it?

Sounds good--that link for the littman light is only $35--not bad for a littman. That web site has really good prices.

Should I go ahead and buy them or just wait until class starts? I also noticed in our syllabus that it said we need bandage scissors, a pen light, watch, etc...should I buy those now or wait?
Also, where do you go to print off the lecture guides? Do they let you tape the lectures if you have a voice recorder? I got one for Christmas--I have an hour long drive to school and thought it would be great to listen to lectures while driving--get in a little extra study time!
I am so excited about starting!!! I have been counting down the days!! Thank you for all your help!! Good luck this semester!!

I got a Palm for Christmas and was wondering what software I need for nursing school/clinicals. Will it be the same for every school or should I just wait until I get in school? Thanks for the help!

My mom is getting me a PDA for Christmas but I don't know what kind to tell her to get. I need it to be compatible with a MAC computer. Also, what software would you reccommend and where should I buy it? This Thread it so helpful!! Thanks!!

I also heard that it is good to carry around a Vicks Vapor Rub stick if you have trouble with the clinical smells at first!!

Has anyone completed their physical for school yet?? I went yesterday and had to have FOUR shots, and I have to go back tomorrow and get another one they forgot about!!! If you haven't looked at your physical form yet you may want to start--you have to have proof of your MMRs from when you were a child--took me forever to track those down!! The doctor I went to had to go to the storage unit because my records are 25 years old and had been "purged"!! My two and three year old went with me and were very excited to see mommy get so many shots!! My son (3year old) said "don't worry mommy, I will take care of you!"

If anyone is needing to get a CPR class, St. Jude is having one on Sat., Dec. 2nd at 1:00. The cost is $40/cash (you get your card on the spot-no waiting) and the certification is good for 2 years. They only have 3 spots left (the max they can have is 6). So if you want to register call 901-495-4765.

I'll look into the Olive Branch YMCA-I would like to go ahead and get it out of the way! You have a great schedule. I have the 8:00 Nur.I--We'll see how well I do leaving the house at 6:30 a.m.!!!

The day care will let me bring them 1/2 days the week before so that will be good!!
