I wanted to become a psych nurse and utilize what I learned in psychology with nursing, but everyone was dismissive and said I can't. I questioned them. Why couldn't I apply this knowledge to nursing? Don't they know how universal psychology was? I felt defeated for a while. I applied for the RN programs, but I didn't get accepted. Still down in the dumps, so I graduated with a BA in Psych and also became an LPN. Now I'm pursuing my RN, and I plan to eventually get my BSN. Perhaps after this, I will revisit the mental health field? But for now I'm in my college's LPN-RN program hoping while working as an LPN in an outpatient clinic.
