24 years as an RN, 27 years in healthcare. I've been almost exclusively in the Hospital all that time, though not always at the bedside. I love caring for people, even when I'm not at work...nursing is just a part of me and my identity and was even when I was a child. That doesn't make me better or mean I have a higher calling; it just means that it clicks with me. I love my colleagues (most of them) and I am so proud to be a part of this profession. However, it gets harder every day. I hate that it's a business. I love animals and am a slave to a very old and particular cat who thinks I am furniture. In my spare time I read (Amazon thanks me), do needlework, and spend too much time at my computer.
