Simmons Direct-Entry Fall 2014

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Published

Hi all,

I haven't been able to find any threads specifically for Simmons for this application cycle.

Anyone else apply to the DE FNP program (9/4/14 start)?

My application status just went to Decision Mailed today. They said we wouldn't hear anything until after March so it's quite possible it's a rejection! Nevertheless I thought I'd start this in case anyone else has any updates.

Does anyone know if once you're in the "grad portion" of the program if you can do the dual degree track with the Harvard MPH?

Is anyone planning to attend Simmons this fall?

Yes - I'm going to be attending Simmons this fall. Just got to finish off a couple of pre-requisites and I'll be all set !

Congrats for getting accepted :) I've decided to attend Simmons as well. I guess we'll be seeing each other around! Did you get your fin aid package yet?

Nice! congrats to you too! Nope - haven't received the package yet though I think they were being sent out this week so should arrive soon.

I just received my package and it's very expensive! Did you figure out where you would like to live? Boston is one of the priciest cities to live in.

Certainly is! pretty bleak reading. Although the way I deal with it is by looking at it as an investment and blocking it out ! I actually already live in Boston so not a problem for me. Boston isn't cheap for sure, depends where you live though - are you moving far?

I'm in western mass. I think I may try to live in a suburb in Boston where there's a train station near by. It may be a little cheaper, but I'm not entirely sure. Where are you living (if you don't mind me asking)?

Train/bus line is probably the best way to go unless you want to go route of Simmons housing - no idea about that though! I live in Brighton/Allston. 15 mins bus to Simmons and even quicker by bike : )

Does anyone know when the exact start date is in September? Or if there's an orientation?

It's expensive but well worth it.

enw10: Yeah I definitely think that living by the train is probably the best option for me since I refuse to drive in Boston.
