Simmons Direct-Entry Fall 2014
Does anyone know when the exact start date is in September? Or if there's an orientation?

UIC GEP prospective students
It seems the problems with the grad entry NP progs (the old/about to be old GEP curriculum) are an issue if you want to work during the graduate portion of the program. For those of us willing to take on more loans and complete it full time , do you think it is still an issue? When we graduate as an np with an msn, will the fact that we don't have a Bsn make a difference?

Simmons Direct-Entry Fall 2014
HCE2014, congratulations!! Maybe we will be classmates! Thanks for your input on the absn vs de-np, I think I agree with you and am likely going to go with simmons unless there's something i really don't like about it when I visit next week. Good luck deciding!

MSN direct entry/CNL/NP questions
the healer's art, I am in the exact same boat. Are you happy with your decision to do the ABSN? Would you do anything differently?

Wayne State University CD2 Fall 2013
Any WSU CD2 students in the program out there who can share their experience with the program? Are there opps to get involved with research?

Simmons Direct-Entry Fall 2014
Yeah, it's certainly not cheap, epoc. On the other hand I don't know of any DE progs that are. HCE2014, the deposit is $750 (woah!, right?). I have family in Boston so I think Im going to schedule a visit to see the campus. Without an interview, I feel like I would otherwise be blindly making a decision. If any of you or anyone that you know have opinions about the program, I'd really like brutal honesty! It's a big investment and I don't want to make a wrong decision. I got into Loyola Chicago's ABSN which is technically ranked more highly, but since I want to do NP I'm more inclined to go with Simmons.

Simmons Direct-Entry Fall 2014
Congrats on UMass!!! I applied to UM Amherst but haven't heard anything. When you visited were you able to meet with people at the school or was it just a self-guided thing? The deposit is very large, which I can understand and view as part of the tuition, but they want you to put it down within 2 weeks. I'd like to visit before making such a big commitment.

CNL
Hi all! I also applied but didn't get an interview yet At this point I'm feeling very doubtful about things!! One of my transcripts was shown to have been signed for by their office before the deadline and I had to resend it, so it just went to committee ready last week. Ugh, I just want an interview!! It is my top choice!

Simmons Direct-Entry Fall 2014
Hi HCE2014, I heard from them that my app was complete Mar 6 and I got an acceptance letter on Mar 13. I've read on prev threads that they send them out in waves, so yours may just be in the next wave. Do you live in Boston and does the school have a good reputation there? I am out of state.

Simmons Direct-Entry Fall 2014
Hi all, I haven't been able to find any threads specifically for Simmons for this application cycle. Anyone else apply to the DE FNP program (9/4/14 start)? My application status just went to Decision Mailed today. They said we wouldn't hear anything until after March so it's quite possible it's a rejection! Nevertheless I thought I'd start this in case anyone else has any updates. Does anyone know if once you're in the "grad portion" of the program if you can do the dual degree track with the Harvard MPH?

UMSON Fall 2014
I also applied to the CNL program. Mine just went to Committee Ready- finally! Here's to hoping for an interview!

UMass Amherst Accelerated BSN - 2014
They told me the same thing via email. I didn't hear anything from them about an interview, so either my app wasn't "interview-worthy" or they aren't interviewing the to be-waitlisted folks. If the latter, I'd imagine we won't hear about being on a waitlist until much later on if they have any open seats after everyone accepts and pays their deposit. This is all my own speculation. When you spoke to them did they say how the process worked?
