It may be that to work as a assistant in the state you have to be licensed. I take it you have a visa allowing you to work? It maybe better to concentrate on meeting licensure requirements and passing NCLEX and look for jobs but from what I can gather that can be hard in this state

no visa problem, i just went to the philippines to take up nursing but i am an american citizen. thanks for the reply!

Good luck but if you read through the posts there are a few stating problems finding jobs as new grad. Good luck anyway

i know i have read through them and i guess i am not the only one having a hard time.

Students have a better chance of passing the NCLEX the closer they graduated from school. If you trained out of the US, you have to apply as a foreign graduate. Some states require you to pass you local test first which would be in your homeland.

The quicker you take the NCLEX the chances of passing are higher.

Why not work in a hospital as ward secertary, you will get access to many of the systems you will need as a nurse?

You may want to ask some of your questions to Suzanne, who is an expert in these situations.

PS the reason you have not recieve any job interviews is due to the fact you are not a RN until you pass the NCLEX, check out the Mass Board of Registration, they are very clear about not hiring nurses until they pass the exam. So you can't apply for a position until you have your RN.
