Jan 26, '11Lyn! Such terrific news, we will have to sync up at the orientation in May! Erindel - hold onto that hope!
Jan 26, '11My hope is burning out. I dont even want to take the teas now. I have no motivation anymore. Im just discouraged with the whole process.
Patno i meant to say goodluck with orientation, not second semester. It was the other guy james who is going into second semester.
It will be nice for you and lyn to meet finally at the orientation.
Congrats again to the both of you
Jan 26, '11Erin,
Don't get discouraged! Just yesterday I was in the same boat as you, I was just lucky to be a little higher on the list. But now you know it can happen to anyone, at anytime. I thought I had to wait until at least the spring of 2012.
As for the TEAS, it is not an option, and you can do it, I have faith in you. Do you really want to give up that easily? I know you and I don't think you do. If you want you can borrow my TEAS study guide, as I have already taken it and should not need the guide anymore.
Keep your chin up and your head held high, you can anything you set your mind to...
Jan 26, '11Thanks lyn, I appreciate your thoughts....
I have the mcgraw hill nursing entrance exam study guide but have only looked a little bit at it.
Thanks for offering me yours though. Hey you took the teas for nothing.. Good practice tho i guess!
May is right around the corner for you.. Thatll be fun to meet your classmates and register for classes.
Im glad atleast one of us got into fall 2011. Enjoy the coming months until its time to hit the big books!!
Jan 27, '11I am in the 1st week of the 1st semster of the day program and it is intense! The good thing about the TEAS is I believe you only need a 58 to pass. NECC requires an 80? For those starting in the fall, read ahead! The first week expect to read 2-3 chapters a night, every night. Just start reading the first 6 chapter of the fundamentals book, ha. I have not had clinical or lab yet, I hope all goes well for me!
Jan 27, '11Hi kris, that definitely is alot of reading. I wish you luck with the program. Do you get to pick your clinical sites or do they tell you where to go? how are the teachers, do they seem fair? Well thanks for dropping by to inform us about the program. Good luck and happy reading...!
Apr 14, '11Hi guys!! I just wanted check in and see how everyone is doing. Semester is almost over... How are you guys doing in the first and second semester of the nursing program? Hope all is going well. To those of you waiting for orientation next month, goodluck and have fun! Im still here waitlisted and waiting....... Lol. Well atleast i passed the teas test so thats off my shoulders now. I got a new PCA job so im focused now on that. Well if anyone wants to chime in, when you have the time, feel free!
Apr 17, '11The first sem is almost over. 2 ppl dropped out already. I am in class MW lecture: 1030-1220, T Lab: 8-12, TH Clinical 7-1, F Lect 1030-1120...But The rest of the day is spent reading/practicing!!! So, it's more time than it looks!!!
Apr 17, '11Thanks kris for the reply. Well you have made thus far so only a few weeks left! Enjoy your summer break then youll b back at it for semester two.... Good luck with finals
Apr 18, '11Second semester is much harder than first semester (didnt think it could get much harder after first semester, but it does). There is way more reading, some people do it and some people dont. No one has dropped out this semester. 6 did last semester. Cant wait for summer break. good luck to everyone!
Apr 18, '11Hi james, I cant believe six people dropped out last semester! Thats alot. Well your about have way done with the program so thats something to think about.... Great job! What clinical sites did u go to this semester? How was l&d?
Apr 18, '11Hi Everyone!
First off, congratulations to all your acceptances, and to those waiting, keep your heads up!
I know this is a little off topic, but I am attending middlesex to complete one of my chemistry pre-reqs ( College chem 2 or che 132) and was wondering if anyone had taken this course, and could give me advice or information about how they felt about it. I have taken gen chem at my nearby university and it was rough, but I am hoping to hear great things about this time around!
Thanks for your time, and best of luck in all your careers!!!
