Im so happy for you!! That must of been some feeling opening that package... So does it explain about orientation? Thats in may right? Hey do u know anyone else who got their letter yet? Im just really discouraged now because I thought i was in for 2011. Oh well, what can i do....

Well, it's official another waitlist letter. For those applying for the Spring 2012 you must now take the TEAS test and attend a mandatory nursing information session. The math for nurses test will no longer be given. Also those already on the waitlist, even though we are qualified applicants must do this as well. What a bummer, right before Christmas. :confused:

I remember seeing the new application procedures right before I received my acceptance letter, and thinking to myself I wonder if these will apply to me if I don't get in for 2011. I can't believe existing qualified applicants will not be grandfathered into the new system? Erindel - I was wait listed three times as well before the fourth time was a charm!

What date did they give u guys to respond by to accept your seats in the program? Maybe someone wont accept by that date and

A spot will open up...heeehee.... Wishful thinking... I think its infair we are not grandfathered in. I feel all the time i spent preparing

For the math for nurses test and the cpt was a waste of time. Oh well i have to go by what they want now. Well im still happy for you that you

Erindel- The first semester was not easy by any means. There are certifications in the lab almost every week. Many found them to be stressful because in order to master them, you had to spend a lot of time in open lab every week. The tests came straight out of the powerpoint lectures; study those and you will be fine, but there is a lot of material in each lecture and there are a lot of lectures on each test. All the professors are very helpful. Clinical was the easiest part for me. Just make sure you do adequate patient research and you will be fine. The reading was the biggest killer all semester. SO MUCH! I made it through first semester unscathed, lets see how the next one goes. Good luck everyone!

Hey James, thanks for responding... Congrats on making it through the first semester!!! I can imagine how much reading is required for fundamentals. I think clinical will be easier for me.. Whenever i get there! Ha. Did you guys go to two different clinical sites? Was nutrition incorporated into the program? I hear pharm next semester is a doozy.. Goodluck with that. I think intergenerational nursing sounds more interesting. Have you gone to studystack.com ? It has alot of pharm help in the health/medical section. Well again congrats and goodluck!

There are 4 different clinical sites to choose from, and you do two of them; One is a nursing home (which they wanted us to call an extended care facility) and one is a rehab from surgery. Yeah, i hear that pharm is a doozy but they are giving us the reading list next week to start it before the semester starts. Intergenerational nursing has 4 different clinical components: pediatric, rehab, maternity, and community. Should be an interesting/stressful semester. I will try to keep you posted as often as possible.

This whole TEAS test is bugging me, not the fact that we need to take it, but the fact that I had to take the Math for Nurses twice... I failed (by one point) the first time in June 09, so I couldn't submit my application until I passed it. I was taking A+P over the summer, so after that was over I studied for the Math for Nurses test in August and got a 98. Then I put in my application...the one thing that held me back is no longer a requirement! I might have already been in the program...sorry I'm just venting here, I'm a little steamed. best wishes to those in the program already, I'm sure all of your hard work will pay off in the end.

Hi Lynm,

I totally FEEL what your going through!!! I think we got the crap end of the stick and there is no way out... Im ***** now because im sitting here looking at the study guide and the math and science portion is ridiculous. A miracle is gonna need to happen in order for me to pass this. It makes me feel like my time preparing and waiting was a complete waste. Almost like our apps didnt even matter before. I signed up for that mandatory nurse info meeting for thurs feb 3rd. What could they possibly tell us now that we dont already know?

Oh well I have to try to stay positive if I am to continue with this process. I hate to keep thinking about how we wouldnt be dealing with this crap if we had just been accepted!!!!...... :crying2:

Hi All,

I recall there was once a question asked concerning when the deadline was for applicants to the nursing program must make their decision to accept/decline by was? I can't recall the exact date off the top of my head, but it is in February.
