I have been contacting nursing recruiters lately to see what the options are for me when I graduate. A lot of them have sent me packets with applications, etc. ALL of the ones I have seen so far... Read More

I think sometimes you can negotiate. A friend got offered a job and when she kept telling the manager no, she kept upping the rate till she got to $33 and the girl said yes. Mind you this person is a nursing student who graduates this june. I think you wont find that in many hospitals but if you have some experience like externships and stuff you may be able to negotiate depending on the hospital.
    Good luck.

While I can appreciate the advice about learning as much as we can as new grads my first priority was finding a team I was comfortable working with and my second, I am not the least bit ashamed to say, was getting the highest salary I could. Surely I can learn as much at $28 per hour as I could for $24.

don't envy us too much from TN I am pretty certain that you can find a home in a safe neighborhood for your family for under 250k and let's not even talk schools.

it's all relative. i think my friend in NYC was starting at $36.

Can't speak for RNs but a few years back for LPNs in Balto. it was pretty low, upper teens as I recall, great benefits though.

    Jules A~ Thanks
I will be moving to Odenton the end of June. I have been told that Anne Arundel Medical Center would be the best option due to traffic. I have heard that the average salary in area hospitals is 25/hr days. I have called about 8 hospitals and none of them have returned my call. Guess I will just fill out the applications and go from there. Take care!

Just be persistent and possibly call to follow up because as far as I can tell unless you are set on one unit/schedule in particular RN jobs are plentiful here. AAMC is a nice facility. Good luck.

Experience plays a good part in salary as we all know. I just graduated with BSN after being an LPN for 11yrs and JHH is giving me 31 plus for that. After all my dedicated service I'm finally being rewarded. If you have any experience Tech or whatever this too should help when figuring out your salary
