How long did it take you to get accepted?

I'm just curious how long it took people to get accepted into RN programs? I'm hearing the ratio of applicants vs the amount of slots open makes it very difficult and some people have to apply year after year.

Specializes in ICU.

I started prerequistes in fall of 2006 and applied in 2007, but didn't get in. I went through another application round in winter 2008 and just got accepted to an accelerated program here in Portland!

I applied for the first time for the fall and was accepted.

I applied, took the entrance exam, and got accepted 1st try!

Congratulations on getting accepted. If it wasn't Linfield, where did you eventually get in? I'm in classes with several people who have applied at Mount Hood and Chemeketa and pretty much anywhere in the state that will offer them a shot. I'm in Eugene trying to get into the OHSU program at LCC. It's a pretty tough program to get into, so I'm keeping my hopes realistic, but I think I've got a good chance at this point. I started my pre-req's in spring of '07 and just learned this weekend that I'm in the final essay round of the applications here. It's encouraging to see someone else starting out late (I'm 36 and have 2 kids, so this is a big step for me) and making it work for them. Best of luck in your program.
