CNA in CRNA Department

Nursing Students Male Students

Published

Hey guys, new to posting on this forum but I do peruse the various topics on occasion...good stuffs. Anywho, I just found this male student nurse part of the site and decided to try my hand here. Ok, so here goes. I'm a 2nd year student (one semester left before graduating) and am currently sick of my current job as it offers nothing contributory to what I'm going to school for and after 3 years just hate it, so anyways I've been thinking of getting a job at a hospital like a lot of my fellow classmates are doing (some are doing externships at the local VA hospital doing CNA work) and I never saw any interesting CNA positions available (there was an ER one but it vanished) and yesterday I saw two spots get posted listed as "Nursing Assistant 1 in CRNA Department". I've never heard of a CNA in a CRNA department so I'm posting here to ask you guys if any of you are familiar with the duties of an aide to a CRNA before I submit this application. Also, being as I'm entering my final semester before graduating would you advise even getting a job or just sitting it out and focus on passing school and not worry about a health care job until I got my RN license in hand? Thanks in advance, fellas.

I would usually advise students to not work while in school - BUT- if you get the chance to work with CRNA'S, I'd jump on that opportunity faster than you could say "police brutality."
