Maine Nursing

U.S.A. Maine

Published

Hi,

ICU BSN RN hoping to relo to ME in late spring. We'll probably settle in the Portland area, but are open to any wonderful towns on the coast. What is nursing like in ME? Are there any unions? Is the pay decent? Are there even employment opportunities? What hospital would you recommend?

Any info would help. Thanks!

I connot answer many of your questions because I am a new nurse and I have not worked yet. What can say is that MMC in Portland is a great hospital. It is the biggest hospital in the state, and I did most of my clinicals there. They have everything there that you would expect to see in Boston. I hope that helps...

Thanks for your reply. I think I'll have a better shot with a large hospital such as MMC. Do you know anything about Mercy Med? I'm hoping that opportunities begin to open up. Do ME nurses have to earn CE's in order to license?

Thanks

Maine Nurses don't have to get CEU's. Have you thought about moving to the country and coastal....Portland is very "Busy".
