LVN to RN Bridge Riverside Community College

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had applied to The Riverside Community College Lvn to Rn bridge program? If so how hard is it to get in? I have some pre-courses done. I looked at the website today and it said advanced placement students were admitted as space permits. Does that mean they take all the non-advanced placement students and it's difficult for the bridge students to get in? I'm trying to figure out what I should do as far as going out of state for the RN. What about any of the other programs such as Golden West, Santa Ana, etc? I want to get started ASAP!! What to do?? Any information would be appreciated!!!!

Cheers!!!:nurse:

What happens is they start the RN program with say 40 students. 2 people drop in the 1st semester and another person drops in the 2nd semester or gets failed. That leaves 3 spots open for LVN's to start in the 3rd semester. That's what they mean by space available basis.

I think Mt. San Jacinto College has an actual group for LVN to RN students if you want to look at that one. A lot of LVNs end up having to apply at the beginning of the program to get in, because so few people drop, and they have such a hard time with the care plans that everyone else has been getting used to for two semesters.

Thank you Nicki for the info!! I will check into the other school. Luckily the LPN school I went to in Florida made us do care plans all the time. We did care plans for every clinical and they were included as part of our exams. I know some of the LPN students going into thier RN program had never been exposed to care plans before. I wish I would have stayed now for thier RN program, but I needed to come back for family reasons. Ugh...gotta love California. lol Thanks again!!

i'm applying to riverside bridge program this year too!

can someone move this to the lvn to rn thread?

Hi, How did it go with applying? Did you get in? If so, what was your GPA and how many other LVN's were admitted?
