Looking for LPN to RN course near Nashville

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

I am a LPN wanting to go back to school to get my RN degree. I am fairly new to the Nashville TN area and would appreciate any input on what schools in the area offer the LPN to RN program and any thoughts and/or experiences anyone has about them. Thanks :)

Have you looked into Vol State . Not sure what all they offer but might be worth checking out.

TSU has LPN to RN or LPN to BSN. I dont know much about it but have also been researching this as I am a new LPN grad and want to start on my RN soon. Here is another site that has some information, nursing-education-tn.org

Have you checked out the TN State Forum? It is at: https://allnurses.com/forums/f174/

Hi- did you happen to find a school ? I am an LPN and moving to Nashville this July and I've been trying to figure out what bridge program to do

I know this thread is old but here is some info

. TN State University in Nashville has an LPN-RN program. They also offer the BSN degree. I have never attended there but the school as a whole has a "dangerous" reputation. It seems like there is always a story in the news about a shooting, fight or even a murder on campus. If you search allnurses you will find several threads where people discuss their frustrations with the nursing program. Many people say its unorganized. I know several RN's who graduated and said that it is a lot of self teaching rather than instruction.

Middle TN State University is in Murfreesboro. It's not too far from Nashville. They only offer the BSN. They have LPN-BSN. Basically once you are in the program the LPN's get their BSN in 4 semesters and the general nursing students get theirs in 5 semesters. There may be only 2 or 3 LPN's mixed in with all the other students. The program has an excellent reputation.

Motlow State Community College has several campuses in the Nashville area. They offer LPN-RN. They also have a great reputation. It may be tough to get in because of the high number of LPN applicants.

Cumberland University is a private school in Nashville. They have LPN-BSN. I don't know much about their program.

Columbia state Community College in Columbia has LPN-RN. I don't know much about the program. It is not far from Nashville.

There are several more schools that have nursing programs in Nashville, but I don't think they have a LPN-RN or BSN.

Happy hunting! :-)
