I just took the Teas Test

:typing Hi all. I just took the Teas test this morning. I was so sure that I'd find out whether my score was good enough to get into the school --today--but I was told they need to have a meeting to see what the minimum score is that they will accept. There were 4 of us. They will be having the test again 2 more times this month. I figured I could take it again in a couple of weeks if I needed to, but not now. Now I won't know if I'm okay until some time in October!:banghead:

Advice? I would get the ATI study manual and also make sure I got the "on computer" practice test. I was able to buy these, and boy did it help, because the format you take the test in- is the same. It was no surprise how to do it. I ran out of time in the math section. For the last 8 - 10 questions, I just made quick guesses because I only had a minute left. I figured a wrong answer was better than not even trying. I felt sick ;:barf01:I was so nervous durring the math section!!!!

Relieved that it's over!! Study percentages, fractions, anything to do with math!!

I hope I can report that my numbers are good...I know what they are-just not if the're good enough to get me into the school:crying2: Good luck if you're taking it soon!!!:thnkg:

Hi!!! I found out that my teas score was good enough to get me into the RN school!!! So happy I don't have to worry about THIS anymore!

Good luck to anyone who is taking it--I thought it was very hard. I've been out of high school since 1981.

You new grads are lucky the info is still fresh to you!!

Congratulations!!!!!

Great to hear you passed the teas!!!

Science portion is no joke. If you can goto the library and check out McGraws nursing school, I swear in hindsight it was like TEAS science section. I bombed in math. But, I did GREAT in Science and English and Reading. I post a link below. I would check it out.

good luck!!

SmilesNoir, thanks for suggesting McGraws nursing study guide. How comparable is it to the real thing? I have the Kaplan study guide, its covers a lot of material--I probably don't need.

what is up with the cloud and tectonic plate questions?

I want to know too.

I don't know--I don't know why some of those questions are on there. I do know that I'm glad I took Microbiology, nutrition and psych already. I think they helped a little on one or two questions.:coollook:

There's a lady in my A&P class that needs to take it again in December- good luck Brenda:heartbeat

:coollook:hi everyone. i just joined this site and im loving it.. i am taking my teas test in a few weeks and im very nervous about the science section. can anyone inform me on what to study. Do i need to know body parts, cells, etc..? Also, are the questions in the book similar to to real teas test?

please help me. thank you. :coollook:

I just took the teas test and scored 82.9. It's not the score I was hoping to get, but my school requires a 55 and I scored in the 97th percentile for the program and 86th percentile for the national. I am pretty pleased with that part. My school uses a point system and the Teas only account for less than 50% of the points needed.

If you have had chemistry (or know the periodic table and how to differentiate between protons and neutrons), can do basic math (fractions, addition, subtraction) as well as metric conversions and ratio/proportions, plus their idea of earth sciences you should be fine ;)...I just took the test this morning and did very well on sections, and sucked on others...thank goodness I have already had pharmacology, so I knew the metric conversions very well...not so much the ratio and proportions...the version I took was computer based, so it graded the test as soon as we were through and we could print out our results...it is very much like the study guide.

this was all so long ago! I graduated RN school in Sept of 11; it was very trying for us, I worked and still had the house to take care of. Good luck to allof you!
