Getting into the swing of things....AGAIN

Hello All!

I have finally started on my lengthy nursing journey as of last Saturday but I have a LONG WAY TO COMPLETION! I am in the LPN-RN bridge program in Centerville, OH then back to Atlanta I go to attend GA State to obtain my BSN while working at Grady in their Nurse Residency Program (if hired, of course! :)). My ultimate goal is to become a CNM AND A WHNP with a special focus on women 13-21. It has been 7 1/2 years since I became a LPN. How long does it take to get back into STUDY MODE????

It's been 3 years since being in school fulltime (from the time I graduated LPN school in 2010) I'm in the LPN-RN program here in Illinois and surprisingly I am transitioning very well! I have a 96% in Mental Health class right now and we are starting third semester Med Surg next week!!

OP are you going to Fortis? I went there for my LPN. I am currently at Clark State for my RN but am looking to switch because the waiting list is so long. Do they offer a night or weekend option? Good luck!! :)

YES I am and yes they do offer a pt lpn-rn bridge class. You attend class friday and saturdays ONLY; it takes 27 months to complete. If you have taken eng 101 or higher; humanities, a intro computer class, psy 101, and soc 101, you will be ahead of the game because it will ultimately cost less and you will have less class time which equals to more free time (or study time)! Im not sure how the clinical situation will go because I haven't gotten that far yet.

I also graduated from their lpn program (it was rets) in 2005.

Jlillie4.....how long did it take for you to get work/life/study balance and a good study routine? Have the nursing classes been difficult or do they seem more like a review of what was learned in lpn school?

That sounds great! I think I'm going to be contacting them for info. It is more expensive but I'll be done in a little over 2 years versus being on the waiting list at Clark State that long. Thanks for the info and good luck!! :)
