Azusa LVN to BSN program

Hello guys,

I am new to this site. I've searched the site for information about Azusa's LVN to BSN program. I haven't really found anything so I decided to start a thread. I have already contacted the school for information so I know about the requirements.

I just wanted to see if there is anyone out there that is applying for spring 2015? Or someone that is or has gone through the program?

I wanted to know how competitive it was and if the $$ was worth it. This is one of the few LVN to BSN programs that I can find in SoCal.

I'm also thinking about going for the LVN to RN route, which is a lot cheaper but takes a lot longer. Since Azusa is a private school, is it easier to get into?

I can't find any info about the LVN to BSN program itself, I want to know what it's like. If I'm going to spend the money, I want to know if it is worth it.

While I am not in the LVN - BSN program, I am in their pre-nursing certificate program to get my science pre-reqs done online. I don't think it's too competitive to get into. I think as long as you have the necessary pre-reqs done, you're as good as in. How much is the program, anyway?

Have you already looked into schools that will accept APU's pre-reqs done online? Someone here on allnurses completed the pre-nursing certificate program and has been having difficulty finding schools that will accept online pre-reqs with online labs. I think their program is around $50,000 for 2 years...but that is specifically for the LVN-BSN so I don't know about the regular BSN track

Hi everyone

I am currently in the process of submitting my paperwork to APU for the May 2015 cohort. I have already submitted my official transcripts and just need to complete the one page essay, submit my license, the two recommendation letters, a spanish test and a phys Ed ,philosophy, and college math class this upcoming spring.(omg still have a lot to do ahhhh!!! Lol)

Just wondering once all of these requirements are completed...What would be the next step.

Anyone have any idea about deadlines or any specifics at all?

I am seriously trying to get everything into them asap to just have the peace of mind that it is done.

I truly hope I get in. APU is my first choice but I am also considering/applying to the la county allied health program and possibly other cc

anyone out there have any input on the difficulty of getting accepted into the program or any other advice for someone who is in the process of applying to APU for theiR BSN as an lvn

I randomly met a women in my schools library who told me she is an LVN taking Azusa BSN course online. she explained it to me as very unorganized....

Hey guys,

Thank you for your posts. I have decided to no longer go for APU. They told me I still needed a philosophy class and some other general eds to apply. I thought this was somewhat ridiculous since other nursing schools did not require these classes. I mean if APU is your number one choice then go for it! As for me, I have decided to go through the community college route. I will be saving money and will be going to a more reputable school. I was also told by APU that the Spring semester was full even though the application period was not over for Spring. After researching more and talking to people, I have decided that there are better options out there that are a lot cheaper and maybe even better.
