How old are your drug handbooks? What do you think too old is?

I don't know what regulation they're talking about but we are expected to have a 2007 and the 2006 books replaced. Something might have changed that would cause a problem...:uhoh3:

I replace q o year..the company I buy from sends me an annual update about 1/2 way thru the year. If a drug isnt in there i will look it up online or call our pharmacy for an info sheet.

Had to chime in here...I was looking at one of my old drug books from my LVN school days and AZT was listed as a "new and upcoming" drug. hehe.

We get new books every year at work - I don't buy one myself as it is supplied for us.

Since the internet, there is access for everyone on a daily basis for changes and additions.

A little off topic but I keep a 1938 "Webster's Popluar Illustrated Dictionary" in my office and love to look up words. It also has colored maps of the world.

They're not that costly -less expensive than a law-suit from a med error. I buy a new one every year.
