HELLO my fellow Nursing Students!:D

I wanted to start a thread to see how you are adjusting and liking nursing school. I have to say honestly...I was a little sceptical at first. Why? Being out of school for xx amount of years and getting back in the swing of things has been a challenge for me. Lets just say, I had a pretty bad case of anxiety. :eek:I'm adjusting farely well. We are about 4 weeks into the program and I have to tell you...I'm excited about learning the things I already knew and the things I didn't know. Learning is power and I find myself associating what I have learned in school in the work place. :)My co-workers are very excited for me and look forward for me coming to work and passing off what I've learned to them which is actually motivating them to return to school. We have to iron out some "kinks" in class (ex: the talkers, the gigglers, the people who constantly need breaks..etc) you know the spill. I truly believe in the statement "hard work pays off". I am mom + wife, I work full time, and attend school full time(four nights a week in the evening). My plate is full :no:and I wouldn't have any other way.

I just like to know what things are going with you and how feel about what you are learning. People may think that this is probably a silly thread but I'm just excited about nursing school and can't wait to become a nurse. Clinicals are were my best qualities will shine through. Can't wait for that but right now I better concentrate on the book part and maintain my A-B average that I manage to create thus far.

Again good luck to all and I look forward to reading your post.:wink2:

I really enjoy being in nurse school!! I'm having a blast, everyday is new and exicting information. I find the rpn program challenging but doable. I have found the program very busy, lots of things to do, not enough hours in the day. I have had 3 tests so far got over 80 on all of them. I'm going to be starting my 5 week on monday can't wait. I'm glad to hear that your program is going great, you will be a good nurse. I hope that everything works out for you!!! Congrats sooo far in the nursing program, remember graduation is only 2 years away!!!:nurse:

Thanks Anne! :wink2:I'm glad to hear you are enjoying your experience as well. You are right, it just seems there isn't enough time in a day to do all that needs to be done but you do the best that you can. I start my 5th week on Monday as well. :yeah:I have a quiz on Monday (on the Skeletal system/Muscles) then Tuesday a big test in Basic Nursing and Wednesday a big test on the Cell, Integumentary System & Skeletal/Muscle System. Geeezzz. I'm on my way home to study and I will be studying tomorrow, too. Wish me luck.

Good luck to you and I hope this isn't the last time I hear from you.

Nice to hear you're enjoying school! I graduate in Dec. I have enjoyed NS! Nursing school mostly is really about "nursing", and so I enjoy it. The science side of it is fascinating, and eventually it all fits. The biggest challenge is time management, but that's nursing too! Wish you continued success!

Thanks for starting this thread, I hope that you continue with it, I start nursing school in dec. and this is very exciting to read. Good luck with school.

That's great news! :yeah:

Keep it up!

Do anyone have any idea of Jobs availability in Hospitals for LVN or RN in 3-4 years from today ???

Hope to hear from all you out there.

thanks.

I must say, I am having a superb time in school! When I sat down for the entrance exam, there were two factors that led me to believe that I was making a mistake. The first one being the only male in the room, and secondly, I was the oldest one in the room. That being said, I've been rolling right along since March and LOVING every minute of it! My instructors are the cream of the crop, genius on many levels. Being out of high school for 20 years, I have had to pull a heavier wagon than some, but I completely respect and admire the mom's that are sitting next to me in class. I am a single guy that is quite lucky to have a close family that is helping me get through school without having to work full time. My hat is off to all of you that are raising kids and working while going to school. God Bless and stay safe. PB:paw:
