Anyone going to school and working ft/pt?? Come share your experiences :)...(I start in Sept and will be working FT and school PT nervous.....!!!)

I work full time, and go to the night program. Trust me, it's not easy. My whole life is now work, study, school. That's it, no kidding. I am only on my 2nd week, I am in for a long haul, but I can do it and so can you! Good luck!

I have been in school since march I have a fulltime job I only work midnights. On my days off I sleep all day and read. I still try to look normal when my days off come like get my hair done go to target but I don't party at all.I am going to party hard @ the end bcuz that bar or club and friend are still going to be going when I become a LPN. That's how I see it.

I work fulltime midnights and go to school fulltime. It is not easy especially since I am a single parent also. I enjoy nursing school so through the grace of God I am able to make it. It is not something that I would recommend, but life does go on and we have to survive. I study as much as I can at work, i can study on my down time, and on my days off I study alot. Good luck and God bless

I go to school 2-10 PM M-Th and work a total of 32 hours Fri-Sun. I know I'm fortunate; most of the other LPN programs I've read about in this forum all over the country don't seem to have schedules that allow their students to make a living and go to school.

I would advise to start and/or continue good health practices to the extent your schedule will allow. You can not afford to get sick. Learn to fall asleep quickly or at least to close your eyes and relax. Lack of rest will eventually be your biggest problem, as it will catch up to you sooner or later. Get organized with school and stay organized. Do assignments as soon as possible. Don't wait until the last minute on anything. You never know when something else will come along to upset your applecart. Good idea to start the flashcards habit. You can slip these in your pocket and clandestinely look at them during your work when you get five minutes here or there. Less noticeable than trying to read your text. Good luck.

I work 36 hrs S-M, go to school T-F 24-32 hrs a week. That is life. I get a day off during Fall break. I study a lot, but still take time for things I love and family, as well as normal household stuff. It is hard, it can be done, and I take vitamins and a weekly B-12 shot. It helps me, and you just do what you have to do. Good luck to you.

HI

I suggest you get organised now and try and stick to your routine.

I work 35hrs a week and attend uni full time. I'm lucky enought to only have around 8-10contact hours that I have to attend at uni - and I'm able to watch 2 lectures by video.

As soon as I started uni I made sure I put everything, and I mean everything into my diary. I tick everything off as I do it, and at the end of each week check what I didn't get done. I then adjust the next week. I be honest with myself, there is not point pretending to get time to do something you know your not going to get to.

I used to be a early bird to bed, but after a month of staying up late to study I quickly got used to it.

Good luck, keep organised,it can be done but it is hard work. I've been told its worth it all:wink2:

Good points. Thank you
