Classroom days we wear street clothes (though I feel some people take that a little too lax and show up in sweat pants... bothers me...) but on clinical days we wear BRIGHT WHITE Landau uniforms. They're not very flattering. Button down, collared tops and pleated, tapered pants. And you can see through everything.

We're not supposed to wear nursing shoes, either, which I don't understand. Just tennis shoes.

Oh, and for graduation we're going to have to buy the old-school nursing dresses with the white tights and little hat. It's nice, I guess, but I resent having to buy something I'll wear for an hour. I had only ever intended to buy ONE useless white dress in my life time! :p

LOL. If you're already married, maybe you could recycle your wedding dress for graduation. If you're single, maybe a really fancy nurse dress could also be worn for your wedding ;). Either way, you're bound to be the center of attention :D.

Then all you'd have to do is attach some netting to your nurse's cap and you'd have a lovely veil :).

Love the useless white dress comment - very funny

We wear the school polo shirt in green with any bottoms that go past our knees for class. Clinicals are white scrubs with school patch, white nursing shoes (specifically provided by the school) and I have heard they are see-thru as well and tell you the sorts of undergarments you should wear.

Lab and Theory we can wear normal street clothing.

Clinical's are our scrubs. They are celi blue with a navy blue stripe down the legs and around the neck on the top. They have our school name and our own names embroidered on them. All white nursing shoes or tennis shoes.

Ours are really not that bad. The only problem with ours is they are not cut for the larger chested women, so small bottoms and then a HUGE top gives off a bit of an unprofessional, I am borrowing someones scrub's kind of look.

for classes we have navy blue and khaki scrubs with tennis shoes, crocks, nursing shoes, etc.

for clinicals we have a striped scrub top, white pants, nursing shoes only, and a watch with a second hand. Half way through, we have to start wearing our cap too. Also, we can only wear one pair of stud earrings and all tattoos must be covered. Our hair has to be shorter than our collar and out of our face or pulled completely up and out of our face.

In our allied health classes, we get to wear street clothes as long as they look tasteful.

ETA: We also have to buy the white dress uniform and white stockings for graduation. We buy our cap sooner though and are required to wear it at our half way point.

I'm surprised you guys wear the cap before you're official! Ours is treated like a graduation cap. Once you're officially a nurse, you get the hat. I'm excited about getting mine. I'm going to put it in a clear box and display it.

They do a special capping ceremony midway through. It is a very big thing supposedly. I'm not excited actually, lol.

on class and lab days we wear regular clothes. when we start our clinicals we wear uniforms. our tops are white with college logo on them, and our pants are royal blue.

mandatory white scrubs w/ school logo. we were also given white lab coats (i guess) for doing our labs... then there are the white rubber soled shoes or sneakers or tennis shoes to go with the whole "mental institution" look we got going on. :chuckle

The first three quarters it was regular scrubs w/any kind of shoe on classroom days and white scrubs with complete white shoes on clinicals. Then in the last quarter they made a change to the entire school so vn's(pn's) had to wear white scrubs, white shoes everyday.

We can wear regular steet clothes to theory, and yes, I wear sweatpants. We have to sit in a hard uncomfortable chair for 9 hours, I'm going to do whatever it takes to be comfortable, and sweatpants do that! Most of the people in my class wear comfy clothes. For clinicals and labs we have black scrub pants, and a dark gray scrub top with our nsg emblem. (It's orange and black.) We get told all the time we are lucky b/c our uniforms look really nice. Lucky us!
