West GA Technical

Nursing Students LPN/LVN Students

I'm wondering if anyone has any familiarity with the LPN program at West Georgia Tech? I'll be going through the selection process at Georgia Piedmont for the Spring 2015, but I'd really like to be able to have a backup. Does West GA Tech have an admissions cycle for the Spring? I've looked on the website and all the information mentions a May selection process cycle, but nothing after that. I'm not even sure which semester the May cycle would be for (I'm assuming Fall though). I've left voicemails for a couple people (admissions and the program head) over a week ago and never heard anything. Maybe I'll have better luck here :)

I really think you will do well and will get in the program on the first try, your GPA is really good for GPTC. also think of it this way, GPTC looks at the overall score so you can score a 50 in the science portion and as long as you get high 70's and 80's on the Reading and English and 60-70 on the math you will still be over the national average. don't worry you got this.

Thanks so much! That really does help. :)

No problem. I just don't want you to get discouraged because with all the competitiveness of these Nursing programs one can lose their head over all the different requirements and numbers, you know. Best of Luck to you Monica427

How was your orientation, newLPNstudentGA??

There was an information session today for the GPTC program that I went to. Basically they reiterated a lot of the information from the website and went into detail about the selection process. It feels a little more real right now. So I have to take the TEAS in about about a month and a half. We're supposed to know the decisions by mid-October. I'm glad they don't seem to keep people waiting!

It was kinda like the info session, alot of the information we already had from either the website or the acceptance email, but there were some other important things they went over that was actually informative. I am just ready to get started, so before I know it I'll be finished!

That's so exciting! It'll be here before you know it :)

Did they happen to talk about working while in the program? I'm really hoping that I can still hang on to my part-time evening job while I'm in school.

They said that it will be a hard program and that it is up to us to figure out if we can handle both. I personally have to work to pay all my bills but if need be I may drop to part time if I feel like my grades are in jeopardy or its just to tiring and stressful, because although it would put me on a tight budget, I can afford partime hours. You probably could but it just depends on what hours in the, evening, you plan on working, because some days you are in class until 3:30 or 4:30pm

Hay Everyone! I have applied to the LPN program at West GA Tech for this Fall(2015)!! I am so nerves, we will find out in about two days. I am praying that I do get in!!!! What was everyone's GPA and if you got in and good pointers for me. Thanks so much :)

Hi all. THe two schools you are talking about West Ga and Ga Piedmont are the schools I will be applying to. I am a ltitle concerned about Ga Piedmonts program not being privately accredited. Do you have any info about that? Will we be able to pursue RN later if the program is not accredited?
