West GA Technical

Published

I'm wondering if anyone has any familiarity with the LPN program at West Georgia Tech? I'll be going through the selection process at Georgia Piedmont for the Spring 2015, but I'd really like to be able to have a backup. Does West GA Tech have an admissions cycle for the Spring? I've looked on the website and all the information mentions a May selection process cycle, but nothing after that. I'm not even sure which semester the May cycle would be for (I'm assuming Fall though). I've left voicemails for a couple people (admissions and the program head) over a week ago and never heard anything. Maybe I'll have better luck here :)

Anyone? :) I still can't get in touch with anyone at West GA Tech. I'm beginning to think that's a big red flag.

hey, I don't know anything about West Georgia Technical College, but I did just get accepted to Georgia Piedmont for the Fall so I wanted to wish you good luck on getting in their program for Spring :-)

Congrats!!! I'm hoping I can get in at GPTC but I'd like to apply to more than one. Have you had any experience with the program at GPTC yet? Orientation or anything? I'd love to hear from a student in the program.

Thank you. I feel you, though its good to have a back up plan. GPTC was actually my back up plan. I was at Gwinnett tech working on getting into the RN program but I wanted/needed to be able to get into a program quicker. Oh and I took the Teas twice to better my score and because my transfer wasn't complete in time for me to apply to the spring 2014 class. I only applied for the program once.......No we don't have orientation until the 21st. So I have no idea what to expect! have you takaen the teas yet?

I was considering doing RN first, but like you I just need to get started quicker. I'm an "older" student (33) so getting to work faster is important for me. I haven't taken the TEAS yet. There's an information session that goes over the selection process in August so I've been told to wait until that. That's awesome you got in on the first try! If you don't mind me asking, what is your GPA and TEAS scores? There's so much information on RN programs on here and relatively little on the LPN programs.

Yea I am 30 myself so as much as I would have liked to go straight through with the RN that is not in the cards for me. Yes you do need to wait for the selection process in order to be considered for the school. I was just wondering, just in case you had already taken it for another school or what not....Thank you, I am very happy that I got in on my first attempt, I would have tried again for the spring and also applied to some other school if I didn't make it though.

Adjusted Individual Total Score:74.7%

National average: 64.3

My GPA for the program pre-reqs: 3.65

Thanks so much! It's good to have an idea as to where I might stand. :)

oh yea no problem hun. My friend got in and she had around a 3.4 and 71 or 72 on the TEAS V. I honestly think that had my transfer been done in time I could have gotten in with my first TEAS score of 68.7 since my GPA was still pretty good. What is your current GPA?

Well in my town we have to take the A2 test to get into the lpn program. I got a 74 and my gpa was a 3.31 and I got in on the first try. So you will make it dont worry.

congrats to you dncheatum. what does the A stand for in the A2test?

So far I have a 3.6 GPA. I'm finishing up my last pre-req right now and unless something horrible happens I'll have an A in that so I think that would bring my GPA up to a 3.67. I'm nervous about taking the TEAS. The science portion is what's really got me nervous. It's been a couple years since I took A&P and other sciences were in high school. It's coming back to me slowly but surely as I study though!
