Want to go to lpn school but have a few concerns...

I want to get a job in the medical field. I decided that I want to become an LPN. In my state they make enough to survive.. And if I wanted to go for my RN later on there are bridge programs available. I have a 4 year old son, which is why I don't want to be in school forever. Honestly, I would've done this sooner except I've always had an issue with blood and guts. I have enough confidence now to say that I honestly think I could adjust and be a good nurse. My other concern is the TEASV. It's scary to me because I graduated HS back in 2005 and my math skills are not where they should be. I basically need to reteach myself in math. My grades back in high school were mostly b's with a few c's. I almost failed but went crazy making up a lot of work before graduation. I ordered a study guide and have several math apps, trying to get back up to where I should be. I'm just wondering if I'm smart enough to even do this?

Maybe you should take a remedial math class to help you! AND; I think you are capable of doing it if you want it badly enough. Also, there is not a high demand for LPNs in some states. You should research the job outlook in your area.

The school I'm applying to only requires a 58% to apply. I live in Massachusetts and I found about 1,000 LPN jobs.. Mostly doctors offices and nursing homes... A few hospitals. I'm going to the info session for it next Thursday. I already ordered the TEASV study guide. If I fail the test I'm definitely going to take some math and science courses to hopefully help me out.

It can be done, I graduated high school back in 1993! I did the LPN program back in 2007. I have since then graduated RN school!(this year) I did the bridge program, if was tough and I had to take the entrance exam 2x, our percentage for the school I attended here in VA is 66%, so whatever you sit down to do remember to focus, if you want it go for it, GOD first and always, he will get you through!

Thank you.. That actually gave me some hope. Yeah this school is 68% for the RN program and 58% for the PN. Ill have more info next week, and I will just study/schedule the test.
