Ok, I am so irritated! I was so relieved to be able to get a sallie mae loan so that I could cover daycare costs while Im in school for a year. I was just told to send in an enrollment document from my school so they could verify things. I called my school which Im set to start in Oct. The guy in advisement tells me..."Well, Ma'am, we can't give you an enrollment doc. until you are officially in school, that would be committing fraud"! Ok, I don't get it, this is Sallie Mae asking for this and they authorize your disbursement up to sixty days before the start of class. Why would they allow that if this was "fraud"? Im so irritated!!! I have already had issues with the people at this school....Im so worried about what else Im going to have to deal with.....

Ok I totally mispelled the thread starter....sorry!!!

you need to ask to speak to the supervisors...i used to work at the school admissions office close enough to registrar's also, and they would still issue out verification of enrollment letters..its possible, just tell them that you need it for your loan...alot of time ur dealing with workstudy students who really dont know much unless they've been working there for years to know how to handle things

If you're admitted to the school and registered for classes, you should be "officially in school." Do you have your class schedule?

I cannot help you either! I tried to get one from my school for something very important as well, and I was told the same thing:uhoh3: Why do some places require one, when they will not even give you one until after class starts????

Wow, with Sallie Mae, I just sent them a copy of my schedule. They didn't ask for more than that...If you registered already and have a copy of your schedule, just send that (If it has the name of your school and semester listed on it). That way, you don't have to deal with your school. My schedule was on a plain looking piece of paper, but it had my school and intended semester listed on.

I faxed them my student financial statement, it had the start dates, the cost, and the school on it and that wasnt good enough....I may just have to wait until Oct.

Did the fax include the actual classes that you registered for, showing that you are registered and how many credits you are taking? That is what I sent them, not my financial statement. Try sending them the list of classes you are scheduled to take.

The school I am going to attend isn't a regular credit hour school...it is based on clock hours. You don't register like you would at a typical community college. But, I did get through two other peole there and they were apologetic about what the "student adviser" told me over the phone and one gal said she would fax something right over....so I am relieved!!! We will see if Sallie Mae accepts it.
