Hi there! I just started the Tri County LPN day program in Franklin MA for the 2011-2012 year. Its a 9 month intensive program. I'm excited/nervous/scared/happy/crazy all at once. I am a former massage therapist and a current CNA. Anyone have any advice/study skills/life lessons..ANYTHING to help me on this journey? I get worried cause some people say I am wasting my time not directly going to a RN program. But the way I see it I am making my life better and my schedule is set not all over the place. It's a start. Thanks for listening!

read a lot and do questions, i downloaded nclex pro for my smartphone and it helped a lot, if you dont know the answer is ok just read the rationale, you will see how helpfull that is. my computer turn off in question 85 on my nclex and now i am a happy LPN, you will se time flies and soon you will be applying for your boards, good luck, do questions for every class you take and you will do great, i did

I agree with the above. You should do fine as long as you study and keep up with the material. I'm also a success story of how it can be done. Good luck !

Me too t just start 2 weeks ogo.... just pay attention in the classe room....go to you tub ...google... any thing you want but do not sty more than 1 hour.....good luck ....just remember that anything you learn now you will need it after you pass your nclex because you have to protect at all time your license... salam

Take really good notes from the start, it will make studying for finals so much easier. I just finished my first semester (YAY!) but good notes are key. Also if your book comes with any software use them, they give you self tests which are amazing and helped me so much!!!! Good Luck!!!!!!

-Read the lesson before the lecture so you know what's going on

-Buy millions of highliters, post-its, pens, paper to help with notes

-Stay organized (I have a labeled folder for each lesson, so there's a lot!)

-If you have a smart phone, download the app called 'flashcards' and put test questions on there to study on the go

-Do as many example test questions from the book regarding your lesson! My school would throw some of those in our exams ;]

-Rewrite notes over and over! It helps to get them and keep them in your head!

-And don't forget to get some sleep haha

I wish you the best of luck :)

Dont get frustrated thinking you are wasting time not going directly into the RN program. sometimes going into the LPN program is more suitable into your lifestyle then doing the RN. anyways after LPN, the bridge to RN is only a year so don't worry about that. The point is to advance in your career.

Are there any ECPI of Greenville students starting the program in November 2011 or in the program now.. I need some info if so?? How is the program and what to expect.. very nervous!! Thanks so much!! Missy
