I start an lpn course in roughly 4 months. I spent some time doubting myself on weather I'd even get in the course but I went for it. I'm excited but nervous on how it's going to go. I worked as cna for awhile, to me the only thing that helped me go to Work for the time I did was because i enjoyed the residents. I had good days n bad. I'm hoping that lpn fits me better, maybe more enjoyable and a better fit. Keeping my fingers crossed. I do want this. Advice?

Kacie....which program are you starting in August?

Sorry, I don't have any advice. Just wanted to say that I'm starting an LPN program in August too ! and Congratulations on getting in!! :)

I start in August too, I'm excited! :)

Congratulations! Do you work with a lot of LPN's?

Congrats! I started my LPN program in January of this year...I will finish next March...only advice I can give is get ready! It's going to be a wild ride :)

Hi! Congrats on your acceptance, I too just got accepted to my program, however we begin in July. I have talked to a few people that have taken the course and passed. I don't know about your program but mine during my interview the program manager straight up told me that working during the duration of the course would be a very bad idea. However I think once you get into the swing of things that working won't be as bad. As for the classes I was told by students to read a head a little each night because the course goes fast and if you didn't read ahead to cover that days materials you could easily get lost. I also was told that if math is not your forte that you should really brush up on it before you get to the sections with math and meds. Not sure I helped at all but good luck!

Im set to start in August too at Atlantic Tech here in South FL, have to take my Tabe and Teas V tests, sheesh I didn't know the books were so expensive though, and I don't believe financial aid covers them. Anyone else attending ATI, Sheridan, or McFatter tech?

I'm at Atlantic currently. In block 2! There's a whole thread on all 3 schools in the Florida section here under United States nursing. :)

I am in an LPN program in WV, this actually my second one. I would recommend starting in on some A and P, med surg and pharmacology. ..it's so condensed it seems like there is no time at all in between test times. Good luck.

How is it? Is it a very heavy workload?

Yes. In block 2 you have tests on 6-7 chapters. In block 1 the most you'll get is 4.

Then on top of that you have to go to clinical. But I'm only on my 3rd day in block 2. So we shall see how this turns out! Everyone is freaking out and overwhelmed! Lol
