Lanier Tech Summer 2017

Nursing Students LPN/LVN Students

Hello! I am wondering how much studying did anyone put in their TEAS 5? I currently have two books and I just ordered a new set of flashcards. Can anyone tell me how competitive is the LPN program at Forsyth to get into? I am beyond stressing because I want this SO, SO bad. I currently have A's and B's in all my prerequisites and I feel like its not enough. Thank you so much!

emysobo... what did you score on your TEAS test if we may know? what were your grades for the prerequisites?

Sorry I never replied, I just logged in to see if anyone got accepted and saw this post. The first time I took it I got a 71, the second was a 77. I'm actually not positive what my GPA is with the required classes but I got all A's and B's.

I got a call last week that I was accepted into the program!! Did anyone else get a call?! I'm so excited and nervous at the same time!

I made an 82.7!!! The first time I took it, I made a 74 though. I also received a call a while back. See you guys at Orientation!!! SOOOOO EXCITED!

Congrats! Are you going to Oakwood or Lanier?

Lanier Tech at Oakwood

I am new to this site but I also got a call about being accepted a few weeks ago. I'll be at the Forsyth campus. I'm anxiously awaiting the acceptance letter (will not feel real until that comes).

Yes, it's not offical till' the letter comes in, ha! Do you guys know of great fitting scrubs? I know there is BeneFIT Medical Scrubs, but I am just wondering of other possible brands? (I know we will wear the traditional grey scrubs from Lanier, but I am just jumping ahead of myself). Have you guys also started looking for job opportunities? Please let me know!

I have zero idea on the scrubs. My friend is in the CMA program at Lanier Tech and the only thing she's mentioned about scrubs are she had to have hers embroidered with the school logo/name.

I have looked on indeed to get a general idea on who hires LPNs in this area, the shifts offered and the pay scale. I'm hoping to get a day shift job when I am finished with school. I have 4 kids so night shift isn't ideal, but doable.

Any idea on when the letters are generally mailed out?

Oh really? I imagined that we had to rent/buy our scrubs from the program because I've seen most former students wear the same ones. I hope that you are right though because I really really want mine from BeneFIT Medical, I hear nothing but great positive reviews on them. I have looked everywhere as well, including: indeed, snagajob, monster, careerbuilder... but I want to be hired by a 100 Best Companies to Work For environment (That is, across the US). I have an 11 month old, so I would like a 2nd shift job because I will also be graduating from an Accounting Program this May. I want to work that in the Morning since there's typically no office positions for 2nd or 3rd shift but there is for Nursing. The letters will be sent out sometime within 3 weeks. I hope that helps!

I got an acceptance letter e-mailed yesterday about registration! I will be at Forsyth as well. I wear WonderWink scrubs right now and I really like them. Does anyone have an idea on what the class schedule looks like? I want to try to find a job while in school, unfortunately I will not be able to do my current job.

I have not received any registration email :sorry:

I think I might have an idea. I spoke to a former student that graduated on Decemeber 2016. Mondays and Tuesday we have class I believe. Wednesdays and Thursdays we have clinicals. At least, that's what the tecahers say when you want to leave a voicemail to their phone number.

I hear most students end up quitting or getting fired from their job because of the program schedule. we will be full time students, and the work is pretty heavy. Pretty heavy that last year, 18 got accepted and 8 graduated because of grades/participation. We will hear all about this on orientation!

I think the only acceptable job would be weekends only. At least, that is what I am trying for.

I've got the e-mail!
