To my future LPN/LVNs just want to let you know that if i can finish lpn school U CAN TOO! Yes its hard, yes there are a lot of chapters to read, yes you will feel like you want to quit, yes you will loose sleep BUT IN THE END IT WILL ALL HAVE BEEN WORTH IT! this is coming from a Rn scho flunky! I didnt let that failure stop me! I dried those tears, put on my big girl panties, dusted myself off & went the LPN route! I just completed my 15 month program last week & had pinning last nite & when my name was called to receive my pin & lamp, all that living in my past shoulda, coulda, why didnt i do this 2 years ago regrets WENT AWAY! NONE OF THAT MATTERS NOW! It wasnt my time then & i didnt understand that but i do now! NOW IS MY TIME! I DID IT! I MADE IT! YEAH I WENT THRU HELL & I CAME OUT ON FIRE! Just take it one day at a time & if you fail, its ok just dont let that fail keep your head down! I was embarrassed & hide my failure of nursing school from my family & friends bug after while i let it out & they all embraced me & encouraged me to NOT GIVE UP & they HAD MY BACK! I talk about my failure because i dont know who it may help! Now i can add to my testimony! IT CAN BE DONE YA'LL! Just keep God or whomever you perfer 1st & work hard & YOU TOO WILL BE IN MY SHOES! This feeling feels SO GOOD! I have finally accomplished something in my life! 30 y/o LPN GRADUATE!!!!!! Good look

I love this post! Congrats to you! I will be 30 when I graduate from LPN school so this is very encouraging! (I am a former RN student too!)

Your story is a nice ray of sunshine in the daily gloom around here! Good luck to you in the future!

Congratulations! I'm hoping to say the same in 2015.

Amen to that

Hi I am in a Red Cross Nursing Aide program while I am doing my prerequisites for the LPN Program for next year. The instructors, who are RNs, said I was too anxious and couldn't keep up with the fast-paced teaching of the course. They said I should reconsider my choice of becoming a LPN. What do you think? If I can't keep up with a Nursing Aide course do you think I have a chance with LPN? By the way I am 50 years old and I will be 52 when I finish LPN Program if I get in.

Too anxious? Well first of all your not to old going back to school. I am 45 in an LVN program. Did you ask them what they meant by that? That's not very nice thing to say or very helpful as a teacher. They should be there to help you succeed not say stuff like that! But seriously I don't understand why they say that. Are you having problems with not passing the coursework? Sorry they said that to you, not very nice.

I'm glad I ran into this today!! Thank you. Are you getting your RN now? I hope your doing well and keeping it going.

Congratulations, my pinning is next Friday, and boy do I know how hard this journey, now let's crush that nclex
