I'm just curious about what the costs for LPN school are now in different areas. I went to school in 1969 and cost of the ENTIRE course was $150 at our vocational school. This included books, two uniforms, two caps (yes, I'm old..but I loved my cap), lunches in the cafeteria during clinicals, and our graduation uniform and pin. I can't even imagine what it is now.
The cost here ranges, at the tech schools it $19,500.00 that includes books and uniforms. At the Hospital Based schools the cost is $6500.00 for tuition. You can easily figure another couple of grand into that for uniforms, books, supplies, etc....I'm going for the Hospital program, it's better and waayyyy cheaper!
How do you find out about hospital LPN programs? Do you contact them one by one or is there a website to go to? I would love to find one in the Baltimore, Maryland area, if possible. Thanks
Whew!!! I'm glad I live in TEXAS!!! The total for 1 year lvn was $4,000. That was classes, insur.,books, uniforms and everything. Unless you wanted to upgrade equipment (blood pressure cuff, steth, therm, gloves, etc) And I cried over this amount, I guess I will thank my lucky stars cause at these prices I would never have been able to do it.
WOW, good for you...glad to hear the entire class graduated. I'm due for graduation this year (june). What is the exit exam like..our class if frantic because we have heard a lot of "bad" new about it. Is it anything like the NCLEX prep classes..or is it different questions? We would all appreciate your input and respone. Thanks soooo much!

aaargh. 20000 US dollars for one year of school in the US?
Here in the Netherlands I only have to pay about 2500 Euros/3000 US dollars a year for nursing school, and that includes books. Uniforms are provided by the hospital. I guess I have to consider myself lucky.
How much of your education is paid for by taxes?
