I guess I dont really have anyone that understands nor has gone thru this but you guys so here it goes. I keep second guessing my self took a quiz and a test so far 75 math quiz and 84 test 80 is passing on both I could have gotten an A or high B on both test I had like 3 on the quiz and maybe 4 on the test that I knew the answer and straight changed it :banghead: me and my eraser are best friends :) I'm overwhelmed b/c of usually life stuff and then to see what grade I could have had its just all discouraging. I dont know what to say or what advice to ask for I guess I have worked so hard to get to the LPN program I am siking my self out. It would be easier to get things wrong because I didnt know the answer(just my opinion) but to get it wrong b/c u changed the answer is even more crushing to my self esteem, I feel like I have a lot riding on this. Ok Vent over :)

The best advice that I can give you is to not 2nd guess yourself! I have been told a million times to not change answers on tests and quizzes and I finally started listening. My grades have been higher ever since. Usually, the first answer that comes to your mind is going to be right. Don't be discouraged! It happens to the best of us!!! I am in a class of 55 students and most of us did that during our first semester. Now that we are in 2nd semester, we know better! :)

I used to get so stressed out about the answers that I got wrong...whether it was because I changed the answer when I had the right answer to begin with, or whether I just didn't know the answer. Now, I have learned to look at it as a learning experience! Nursing school is hard, so give yourself some credit! :)

Thanks...I guess I just have to go with my gut :)

I have 4 months left in my 11 month program and let me tell you I am the queen of stressing out! I always freak out before tests and make myself sick to my stomach and end up getting high 90s. You really have to shut out your personal life. I'm surprised my fiance still wants to get married because I barely see him anymore and when I do I am studying. we have no more time for each other. The only thing that helps me is I just tell myself to calm down & DO NOT CHANGE ANSWERS. Go with your gut feeling, you normally are right! You have to somehow teach yourself to block out the chaos of your life and just zone in on school. I have a lunch break that is an hour in school and I go sit in my car & study. I go home from school and study right away. Keep your head up and you will make it, even if it means loosing a few friends on the way.

Live and learn, don't beat yourself up over the previous tests just don't make the same mistake. I'm in my 3rd semester and I still have to make myself NOT second guess and just go with my original thought because it is usually right...esp with critical thinking questions. You can talk yourself out of an answer really quickly if you aren't careful.

If I know that I don't know an answer, I leave it blank and go back to it. Otherwise, whatever I write down I leave. Once I have finished a test, I turn it in right away. If I go back over it I am way too tempted to over-think everything and mess it up. Go with your first instinct, unless you can PROVE that your original answer was wrong.

I used to do the same thing! You can do this, just stop second guessing yourself and be confident - if you miss a question it sticks with you and you won't ever miss it again! You did work really hard to get in and deserve to be there! Keep your spirits up and study - your going to make it to graduation!!
