Are you bored at work?

Would you rather be bored or busy for the same amount of pay?

I left a very busy LTC facility to go to a very very slow facility. I make the same amount of money. The most I have is two patients vs fifty five. I am bored out of my mind and after a year (I don't want to job hop), I think I'll return to LTC or at least a busier nursing job.

It's a "nice" problem to have, but I'm not good at being bored. Does anyone have a "slower" nursing job they enjoy? Do I sound crazy, or can anyone relate to what I'm saying?

If you make the same pay I would stick with a "boring" F/T job and pull a few PRN shifts at a "busy" job. That's just me though.

I like to be kept busy but not insanely busy with a too heavy workload. And I definitely hate to be bored with nothing to do at work and I'm just sitting and watching the minutes slowly tick by.

I do understand what your saying. At my job I only have seven pt,but I'm not complaining. I'm using this opportunity to start school in August 2014 lpn to rn program. I'm very blessed will have a lot of study time cause there is nothing 2 do.

My first job was probably my favorite. 3rd shift charge @ a skilled ltc unfortunately most shifts were way to busy and felt like I was constantly sprinting just to stay afloat. The supposed "slow" nights were great. I was constantly on the move but could keep up and even give an occasional back rub or two. I work PDN now and love the attention I can give but do struggle with boredom. I agree something in between would be awesome.

No, I am never bored at work. Stressed? Yes. At work I run around like a chicken without a head. Don't take breaks, ever. Not even a bathroom break. I'm on my feet the whole time until the end of my shift when I am charting. If I had an opportunity to work at a slower paced area, or a place with 2 patients, I definitely would not complain lol. That would be a dream come true for me xD.

And yes, to me you sound crazy to want to leave a peaceful job like that. You get paid the same as your old job! Idk why you would wanna go back to your old job. Hey, if your current job needs anyone, hook me up. I'll gladly take your position if you resign lol.
