question about license renewal..

I have a question for you all,which I havent been able to find the answer to...Why is it that while me and other people might have tested on the same date for the NCLEX, our license has to be renewed a year before others?For ex, one of my friends who just got her license has to renew it in Dec of 2005, and another one in 2006 and yet someone else in 2007.Just curious.

Depends on the state that you are in, as well as birthday for some. Each state is free to set their own requirements. If one has to be renewed already in December, then they are probably given a 6 month probationary period.
