What do you guys think...I just got hired at a convalescent/psychiatric ward, but I still have an interview to work a nearby county hospital in the next week. The convalescent decided to start me off at $21.50/hour and the benefits are GREAT. Although, I really really wanted to work in the hospital. I have an interview with the hospital next week, and I feel that I should at least go to the interview to see what they have to offer. I see the hospital as an opportunity to gain EXPERIENCE...but they may pay me between $17-19 depending on shift. I have a passion to work in the hospital one day, but I think it would be better if I was a RN. What do you guys think that have experience in both fields...but please everyone give me an opinion. TIA

I can decipher from your previous posts that you really would prefer to accrue some experience in med/surg at a hospital setting. If you can afford to live off $17 to $19 hourly, I would accept the lower-paying hospital job if it is offered to you.
Though I personally would not want the stress of working at an acute care hospital at this point in my life, it seems that this is what you truly desire. If it will get you closer to your goal of reaching the RN designation, then all power to you. Good luck to you!
