Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

I am currently going to school for a MA, I would like to change and go for LPN.

I live in Chattanooga Tn and need suggestions on schools, and if you can do it online, which is the best?

Decided to try and switch because i want to work in a hospital and work with patients on a more one on one basis.

I hate to burst your buuble, but if you'd like to work in a hospital, you might want to go for your RN (even better BSN) as LPNs are rarely employed in hospitals anymore.

I was going to say the same as the pp - but, there are many more options (in my opinion) as an LPN than MA. MA's typically work in Dr. offices as they lack assessment skills. LPN's have a much wider range to choose from - LTC, Corrections, Dr. offices, Assisted Living, Home Health, School nurse, flu clinics and many, many more. I'm not sure of TN but New England rarely hires LPN's in a hospital - even RN's have a hard time as the big cities want BSN.

Good luck - which ever way you choose - I'm sure you will be happy!
