Nurses LPN/LVN

Has anyone ever heard of this? There are no other nurses, just a pharmacist and pharmacy techs. Is this within the scope of an LPN?

what is the job title/work responsibilities of the lpn working in the pharmacy? if job responsibilities are not nurse-related, there shouldn't be a problem.

Job title is Case Manager- LPN. They want me to contact patients that receive the compounded medication from the pharmacy (Rx written by the pts own doctor) and keep track of symptoms, side effects, effectiveness, in addition to all the other basics, Name, DOB, Dx, current medications, advise application procedures etc... They also ask that I call Dr offices and verify Rx when qty or # of refills is missing. I just feel like this may be out of my scope since there is not an RN above me?

Specializes in Med/Surg/Tele/Onc.

There really are no nursing actions involved in what you have described. I'm not sure there is a problem here.
