LPN/LVN rate of pay in your area.

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

This topic has been around before, but I was looking for something more up to date. Things have fluctuated in past two years or so. I know people are always looking for salaries and most of the time its for RN's. I'll start ;-)

Around the Cincinnati area here I'm not sure about the starting pay or pay in hospitals for LPN's. But I know LTC facilities are about 16 to start ranging up to about 22. I've seen ad's in the paper saying $24 but I don't know what that was for. Agencys are about 21-25 dollars for LPN's also. I believe Jobs are plentiful around here! Also when I was up in columbus, I heard an instructor saying they are starting their LPN's out with $27-30 while the RN's get about $40-50 ..I don't really believe that, but I just tossed that out there maybe for some clarification?

Wow! reading the pay rates almost makes me wanna scream. I went into nursing because I wanted to a career that would give me more options as to where I can work, and a job where supply and demand wasn't depleted. Plus I feel like I can do more as a nurse than as a CNA. But if this is what the pay rate is like, than I don't know now. I mean it should be more. We should get paid just for the simple fact that he survived nursing school, which is a horror in itself. But $14-$18 dollars ain't gonna cut it for me. I could have stayed a CNA make about $14/hr or continued working as a surg. tech. Last job offer I had for ST was starting at $18/hr. But I live in CT, and it is expensive to live here. Taxes are high, and I wouldn't be suprised if they start taxing up just to breathe.:uhoh21:

Does anyone know the pay rate for LPN's in the West Central Illinois Area?

I'm from WC Illinois, and I hear the starting pay rate at the hospital is 12-13. $1.50 diff. And weekend pay is around 17. Mostly though, in depts. like OB/L&D, ER, you're just a tech position/glorified aide that can instert catheters. Over in Hannibal, MO they supposedly pay their LPNs 10.75-PATHETIC. I make about that as an aide at the hospital.

LTC is about the same if not less. I haven't really heard too many great things about the pay around here. Definetely going to have to keep trekkin in school...

LPN rate of pay in ATL?????????????

I passed my boards last summer and took a job in the hospital and made 16/hr. I now work in a state facility w. start at 14.

I am an LPN , I work in PA and NJ. My PA job which is per diem and 5min over the bridge in PA pays $22 an hr. My other in NJ is an hour away from my house but pays $30 an hr per diem. I am getting with another agency that will put me in facilities in PA about 15-20 min from my home they will pay $25-28 depending where they send me. The good thing about my $22 an hr job is they have paid for everything, my physical, TB tests, background checks and have recently paid to IV cert me. Next week they are certifing me in wound vacs. So of course I stay with them for the positives and put in my requirements, then pick-up cases with the other agencies hear and there for extra money. You know the rate of pay will never be equal to the work we do. :)

Jemi---Im curious.. what type of facilty is each place you work in ?
