  1. Did anyone buy the recommended texts? I was wondering if it matters if you buy say from 2005 or if you could purchase books from 2003 or something. Please let me know. Thx
  2. It only took me 24 hours to find out if I passed my boards. I just logged on to MN board of nursing and looked it up. If your BON is as fast as MN you should know by now! SK
  3. I tried working in the hospital skilled nursing and it was not my favorite! I now work in a drug dependency rehab. center and I really enjoy it. SK
  4. I took my boards last June and left feeling totally confused. I had questions on Sickle Cell Anemia, medications, and A Lot on prioritizing client care. Ex. you have 4 ppl one post op from TKA, one with gallstones, etc. who would require immediate attention, number them. Good Luck! Just remember it is normal to leave feeling confused. I was so scared I could hardly remember the questions once I walked out the door, and I passed.
  5. I passed my boards last summer and took a job in the hospital and made 16/hr. I now work in a state facility w. start at 14.
  6. My school clinicals were interesting. I think the hardest part was nerves. I did not like having someone stand over me with eagle eyes! We had a list of skills we had to pass in diff. sections. We did catheterization, removal of drain tubes, IV cath. removal, setting and flushing feeding tubes, etc. I did get to watch an autopsy while in school and that was really interesting! I worked in the hospital on the skilled nursing floor for a few months, now I work at a drug dependency rehab. with many different types of people. Good luck!!!! SK
