And if you want to rent...ha, ha, in a nice neighborhood, of course, 1bd 1bth $1100
2bd 2bth $1300 and 3/2 as much as $1600. So if you move here not only will the cost of living be high, the pay will not match. And yes, we are planning to move.
Same with Orlando, and we're planning to move, too (whenever we can sell our house, that is!)

Ok. I know it is a year after that post but, it IS ok to be a nurse for the money. Just like being a Doctor, mechanic, policeman, and any other job. The idea that you have to starve to be a caregiver is as old as the hills. Why spend thousands getting an education, many thousands of hours getting experience and not be able to have a good life and take care of those annoying details like supporting your loved ones? I do like helping people but that is not why I got into nursing. My number one motivation was how much we get paid where I live and, no, contrary to what people always say to us money lovers, I dont hate my job. I love it. Guess what. In spite of getting into it for the money, I bet I am as good a nurse as you are. Turns out, after talking to many of my coworkers, that they would walk out the door in a heartbeat if the money wasn't right. And we all love where we work but you have gotta make a living and it doesnt make sense to make your loved ones suffer just so you can follow your "calling". (Working for nothing)
