"Neglect" of the Residents and Associates.
    1. Can Charge Nurses be written up for not coming in to cover a CNA call-in?
    2. Can Associates be written up for missing Mandatory Meetings even though that Nurse
worked all night until 730am and is scheduled to return that night at 7pm-7am.
    (MM are usually at 2pm)????????
    3. Legally it is a Nurse's responsibility to report any abuse, So why are the Adm and DON
trying to cover things up. (yes feeling the cold shoulder effect after trying to talk to them)

As long as the charge nurse is not on some type of official on-call rotation, he/she cannot be written up for failing to come in to cover the shift of a CNA who has called off.

Yes, the nurse can be written up for missing a mandatory meeting, even if it was scheduled at an inconvenient time.

At most nursing homes where I've been employed, the nurse reports suspected abuse to the designated in-house 'abuse coordinator,' which has always been the facility administrator. Once the nurse reports instances of abuse to the administrator, it is up to the administrator to decide to take it any further by getting the state involved. The chain of command is in place for a reason.

Thank you. Charge Nurses are required to take call 1x week which is now averaging 2-3 every off days and for Charge Nurse call ins.
A new time is in play for next MM at 6pm for nurses. CNAs will stay at 2pm since they are on 8 hr shifts. We will wait to see if management will make necessary changes to improve care. Still will have Faith.
