I thought I would start a thread for those of you applying or have already applied for Fall 2012 for the BSN program at LSU. We can freak out together and perhaps share tidbits of informative information along the way!! Best of Luck Ya"ll :nurse:

Specializes in NICU.

Hey Initials, I am an Oregon student as well! I plan on applying to LSU's BSN, out of curiosity did you get accepted? I saw you were accepted into Univ of Portland, so congrats on that!

I can't PM you as I am a new member.

hey all! i was on the alternates list and received a phone call today and I got in! so excited! It was very unexpected because I was already making plans to attend another college for their nursing school!

and thank god Ive taken ab norm psych and ex stats. phewwwww

Does anyone have any insight for the insurance they they suggest for those who don't already have their own? AND, is there some where in New Orleans were it is cheap to get the physical and the rest of the shots? Last time I went to Concentra when I was sick it was $115.

Congrats mgmgmg!!

Go to lsuhsc.edu and click on students on the left hand side. Then click student health insurance. They offer blue cross blue shield. Check out for yourself and see what you think. They have all the information. I found it to be very over priced considering there are better options out there. I ended up going with United healthcare. I like good copay options! Good luck with all that. It was all new for me getting my own insurance now that I'm not living at home.

And by the way, congrats MG! Now there are two mg's starting in the fall

Did everybody get their username yet? I already completed all of the compliance training on the new students page! It was all super easy and it didn't take long at all

Concentra has outrageous prices... Don't go there please. I have health insurance and it did cover all imunizations as preventive care but Concentra doesn't accept insurance for this things... That's crazy!! I went to St. Charles health center in Ochsner Kenner in the 4th floor, they did take my insurance and they did have the vaccines, of course the prices are more reasonable even if you don't have insurance. The physical I did it at Walgreens clinic and it was only $39.

Does anyone know what we need to do if we're hep b carriers or hep b positive? Certainly, the vaccination will not work....

That's so awesome! I am on the alternate list too. Do you think they are still making calls?

I am curious to those that were accepted what your GPA and HESI score was. I'm applying for Spring and am really anxious to know if I have a shot. My cum GPA is 3.1 and my pre-req GPA is 3.5. I haven't taken the HESI yet but I'm worried that my cum GPA won't make the cut. I would like to hear any feedback.
