So I have finish all my classes and brought my profile score up to a 75. This will be my second time applying. The first time I applied with a profile score of a 60. So hopefully this time my 75 helps me get in. I was just curious to know other peoples profile scores. I can't wait to submit my application in August!

I'm torn. An email will be faster, but receiving the actual letter will make it that much more real. I will probably frame the dang thing. I'm hoping mid-October is to cover their butts and that next week is the real deal!

Haha! I told my boyfriend the same thing the other day. That I will frame my letter.. He thinks I am nuts, and that I am over obsessing with knowing or not! He has all faith that I will get in, I on the other hand, do not. I do think the mid- October date is to cover there butts as well! Hopefully....

Glad I'm not the only one obsessing. I have already warned my family, that if anything comes in the mail from Charity, they are not allowed to call me at work and tell me about it. They are required to drive it to me at work and not let me know until they are 5 minutes away. I'm really thinking we should know something by the end of next week. Please, sweet baby Jesus, let me be right!!

Same with my fiancé. Don't get me wrong, he is very supportive, but I know he is tired of hearing me obsess over it. I'm not sure who will be more relived when the letter does come in! Lol

Every time I get an email alert, my heart skips a beat.

Same here. I wake up everyday more anxious, as if that's even possible at this point!

Specializes in NICU, Trauma, Oncology.

I think if it's going out by email it will be later. I think we have a better chance of getting a letter before an email. I just can't take the wait any longer.

You think? My thinking is they already have "the list" so to speak and she is deciding how to go about sending them. If the first letter were received on the 20th of September last year and they to notify via email it could be to any day this/next week. If they are notifying via mail, it would take longer to gather all papers, do postage, and actually mail them out. I hope she decides ASAP!

I think they already have the list too and they are just draggin their butts! I wonder if they realize nursing school is hard enough to stay in. Can they just cut us a break !

Well the weekend has come, so it seems as though an email is out of the question for this week and I highly doubt a letter will arrive tomorrow....on to next week, preferably Monday ;)

I just came across the forum and just wanted to wish you all good luck! I hope you all get great news in the next few weeks!!! I am currently enrolled in an LPN program in Slidell. I was a student at Delgado since 2010. I applied to charity 4 semesters straight and sadly I did not get in. My profile score was between a 78-84 every time I applied.i know how it feels to wait and wait and to get rejected not once but 4 times. I met with mrs Wilson after my 3rd attempt and she suggested that I change my major if I didn't get in on the 4th try. All they kept telling me was so many people apply that sometimes the cut off is at like a 85. It just depends on how many spots are available each semester. I was devastated. I felt like

Giving up. I actually ended up changing my major after trying to go to PRCC for their RN program. There were so many out of state costs and more pre reqs that I would have had to take that I chose to just stick it out at Delgado and try the Surgical Tech program. I applied, got in the first time this past January and loved it.

I was doing great and really enjoyed learning surgery and being right there assisting the Dr.

Once I was in clinicals for the second month I began missing interaction with patients, and not knowing the outcome after surgery. I was a CNA for 13 yrs prior to enrolling in the surg tech program. I began watching the nurses constantly, especially when I got to go to L&D and assit with cesareans!! I was wishing I was them, I loved seeing how patients looked up to their nurses and how much they were trusted. I sat in the bathroom

One day on my break and just thought to myself "what am I doing here?" I want to be a NURSE, I want to help people get better, I want to interact with them, I want to go home at the end of the day and be satisfied with myself knowing that my patients are happy with the care I provided! That's when I knew I was in the wrong program! You really don't see your patients long as a surg tech. It wasn't rewarding to me. I chose to drop from the program and switch

Schools since the school I'm at now was starting a class in August! This was the quickest way for me to finally become a nurse! I'm so happy that I did! I'm in my 5th week of the LPN program now and I'm so excited to finally be in school to be a nurse! I plan to apply to charity for the LPN-RN bridge program when I'm finished this program and get some work experience in! I just wanted to share my story with all of you and say NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAM!!

Again good luck to all of you!

How was your score a 78 or 84 and the scale is a five point scale?

I'm sorry, I was thinking Hesi score. I took it twice my first was a 78, retook it after A&P 2 because the advisor told me that could have been a reason I didn't get in, then i got an 84 the second time.
