Charity SON Spring 2014

U.S.A. Louisiana

Published

Hi! I noticed that there were a few people around the forums that were going to apply to Charity for spring of 2014. I was wondering if Charity would accept a HESI score that I took for LSU? LSU was my first choice and now it's Charity. I still plan on getting a BSN, but I'd like to get working as soon as possible. Any advice on the HESI score? I plan on giving them a call, but I'm not exactly sure who I should speak with---or if I can get anyone on the phone.

Sure..

Calculation of drug dosages 9th edition

Clinical nursing skills & techniques 8th edition

Concepts for nursing practice

Fundamentals of nursing 8th edition

Medical-surgical nursing: patient centered collaborative care 7th edition

Mosbys drug guide for nursing students with 2014 update, 10th edition

Pharmacology: a nursing process approach 7th edition

But remember that each semester you have to add on books so the ebooks are better in that way.. They would just download to the app or computer that you have already.. Pageburst also gives discounts for purchasing the ebook package..

Thank you sooo much:yeah:

Your welcome!

Congrats on making it to Level 2 SueBoo78! Who'd you get for level 2? Congrats to you too Naeema on getting in!! I would suggest you go to school to register. There is always a problem with registration, and the students that are at school registering always find out what the problem is and when its fixed first. The library opens up at 8. University is a great site for clinical...you get so much experience, however, being on that team you'll have to work(study) extra hard to pass. Ochsner kenner is an excellent choice...the clinical site isn't as great as University in terms of seeing a lot of stuff(gunshotwounds, badcaraccidents, etc.), but its good and you'll get experience, and that team is GREAT in lecture.

Thanks ellegirl7. I'm gonna be at EJ and Beacon. I can't post the names of the people I got so I'll just say this that it was a Smart choice I made. :)

I personally didnt like the ebooks and they wont be used in class in any way so you can use hard copy books if you want.

SueBoo...I just finished Nursing II with that Team and it was great! EJ has very sweet and helpful nurses that will answer any questions you have, and Smart is excellent! U also will get to spend a day of clinical in both the OR and PACU, which for me was awesome! I def learned so much! As far as the Ebooks are concerned I don't know a single student that likes them! I myself haven't used them since first semester and even then it was just to look up terms.

SueBoo, Great Choice. I've heard great things about that team as far as lecture goes...I was on team 1 in Level 2. I like the fact that you guys are going to be rotating through 3 different clinical sites. Good Luck!!

Naeema, I spent a total of 163 and some change on all my books(hardcopies) and the only two that are current editions are the Clinical Nursing Skills and Techniques, and the Maternal Child book. All of them were brand new in the wrapping. You'll have to buy 3 extra books, 1 in level 2 and the other 2 in level 3. Depending on how your teacher lectures, who makes the test, and the type of student you are determines how much you'll have to use the books, or if you even need to buy all of the books. Also, none of the instructors that I've had so far have the ebooks, except the level 1 pharm instructor and I'm now in Level 4. Someone mentioned the Success books, which I hate, I used them my first semester and my grades for the first and second test were in the 70s, I stopped using them and my grades for the remaining test were in the high 80s. However, a few of my friends that I study with use the success books only along with their notes from class and they always do great on every test. You'll definitely have to find out what works for you, and find out fast...Lol. Good Luck!!

Nomnica, Congrats on passing! You're half way through. What team are you on this semester?

I was wondering if any of you ladies worked while in level 1 ?
